ScreenCastKit

No install · No upload · No account

Cinematic screen recordings, right in your browser.

Record a tab, window, or screen. Add spring-smooth zooms, click ripples, and a beautiful wallpaper frame. Export a hardware-encoded MP4 up to 4K. Your footage never leaves your device.

Works in Chrome and Edge on desktop — Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS.

Three steps, zero installs

1 — Record

Pick a tab, window, or screen

Add your mic and webcam if you want them — the webcam records as a separate stream, so you can move or hide the bubble after the fact. A 3-2-1 countdown, then you're rolling. Recordings are crash-safe: everything is written to disk every second.

2 — Polish

The editor opens instantly

No upload wait — your footage is already here. A wallpaper frame, padding, rounded corners, and a shadow are applied by default. Drag zoom segments onto the timeline, click where to focus, and the spring engine animates the rest. Trim, split, speed up.

3 — Export

Hardware-encoded MP4

WebCodecs uses your GPU's H.264 encoder, so a 1080p export targets faster than realtime. Up to 4K/60 on Pro, plus WebM and GIF. The file downloads straight from your browser — because it never left it.

The effects that make demos look produced

Every effect is free, forever. We gate the output, never the craft.

Spring zooms

A damped-spring camera glides into what matters — no easing pops, a hint of overshoot. Presets from Subtle 1.5× to Dramatic 2.75×, with a per-segment glide control that lets the camera drift while zoomed.

Click ripples

A soft double ring expands from every click so viewers never lose the pointer. Toggle the whole track on or off; ripples render identically in preview and export.

Wallpaper frames

15+ built-in gradients, meshes, and studio darks — or upload your own. Padding, corner radius, and shadow presets are tuned so the default already looks deliberate.

Webcam bubble

Your camera is a separate stream, so the bubble stays movable, resizable, and hideable after recording. It automatically shrinks during zooms so it never covers the action.

Aspect reframe

Switch 16:9 to 9:16 or 1:1 and your zoom targets re-center automatically. One recording becomes a landing-page video, a Short, and a square post.

Trim, split, speed

Cut the dead air, delete a segment from the middle, and run the boring stretch at 2×. Per-segment speed from 0.5× to 3×, all reflected live in the preview.

Your footage never leaves your device.

Recording, editing, and export run entirely in your browser — there is no upload step, no render farm, no account. Don't take our word for it: open DevTools and watch the Network tab while you work. We wrote the walkthrough for you.

Frequently asked questions

Which browsers are supported?
Chrome and Edge (and other Chromium browsers) on desktop — Windows, macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS. Safari and Firefox don't ship the capture and encoding APIs we need, so we show an honest gate page instead of a broken app. No mobile support.
Does my recording get uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs on your device. The only network traffic is static assets, an optional license check if you buy Pro, and a tiny cookieless analytics beacon — never your pixels or audio. See the DevTools walkthrough.
Are the zooms automatic?
Manual zooms work on every recording: drag a segment on the timeline, click where to focus, done — it takes seconds. Automatic click-driven zoom requires our free companion extension and works for browser-tab recordings, because browsers don't let a page (or even an extension) see clicks outside the browser window. We label this precisely instead of over-promising.
What's actually free?
Unlimited recordings of any length, the full editor, and every effect. Free exports are capped at 1080p and 5 minutes with a small corner watermark — Pro removes all three from $69/yr or $119 once. Our watermark policy, stated plainly.
